NPH vs Matthew Morrison…!
Posted in Guest Stars, Spoilers by Shirlz at March 5th, 2010 • 1 Comment »

Ausiello does it again, as we got another set of awesome spoilers regarding Neil Patrick Harris’ appearance on Glee!

It’s official: Neil Patrick Harris’ forthcoming guest appearance on Glee will without a doubt be legen — wait for it… here it comes — dary.

I just got my hands on some fresh intel surrounding Harris’ role in the Joss Whedon-helmed episode, so you best stop reading, spoilerphobes!

According to a Glee insider, NPH will play Bryan Adam (ha!), a high school glee club nemesis of Will’s (Matthew Morrison) who resurfaces as a board member at William McKinley.

“Flashback scenes will show Bryan picking up girls and getting all the cool solos,” reveals the source, “while Will sits off in the sidelines.”

The stage for a present-day rematch is set when Harris’ character announces his intent to cut the arts programs at the school. “Show choir ruined his life, made him feel he could be a star, but all he could do is book Carnival cruises,” explains the insider. “Now he wants vengeance.”

The episode — which I’m told features a climactic duet between Harris and Morrison — goes before the cameras next week and is slated to air during May sweeps.

Legen — wait for it… here it comes — dary stuff, right? (That’s the last time I’m doing that, BTW. Swear.)

BTW, Glee returns with the first of nine new episodes in 40 days.

Sue Meets Her Match?!
Posted in Glee, Spoilers by Shirlz at February 11th, 2010 • No Comments »

Has Sue Sylvester finally met her match? Hint: Hell yes she has!

In yet another triumph for the casting gurus over at Glee, sources confirm to me exclusively that SNL vet Molly Shannon is joining the ensemble as a nemesis to Jane Lynch’s Sue.

Wait, it gets better.

Her character, Brenda Castle, is described as the busty 45-year-old new astronomy teacher and badminton coach at McKinley High School who is both an alcoholic and a pill-popper.

“She becomes Sue’s enemy,” says a Glee insider.

The role is recurring and Shannon’s first episode is slated to air in May.

BTW, Glee returns in 62 days. But who’s counting? Okay, I am.

Spoiler Alert- Take 1

I’m not going to give away what the spoilers are about in the title, so I just named it Take 1. Highlight the box below to read the spoilers found on Digital Spy:

Glee’s showrunner Ryan Murphy has confirmed that he is currently casting a new gay character for the show.

Earlier this month, Murphy announced that he will be holding open auditions for three new characters to join the programme for its second season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at the Golden Globe Awards, he revealed that one of the characters will be a new boyfriend for Kurt.

“We just announced we’re doing a nationwide search for the season two cast, and [a boyfriend for Kurt is] one of the three roles that we’re adding. And we’re going to make them a power couple.

“We’re not going to do the whole hiding in the shadows thing. We’re going to make them popular, and out and proud and glamorous. Like prom king and king. We’re doing the opposite of what’s been done.”

Discussing the other roles, he added: “We’re also casting sort of a Eve Harrington [from All About Eve] to kind of steal Rachel’s thunder a little. So those are two of the three.”

Are you sitting down, Gleeks? Well you might want to, because we have some exclusive Glee news that’s positively Madge-ical. EW has learned that Madonna has given Glee the rights to her catalog and that an all-Madonna-music episode is in the works for early next year. The hit series has been building an audience and filling the iTunes charts with its cover songs, and Madonna’s involvement is a testament to how big the show is getting. Also, an amazing Glee cover of a classic Madonna track has the potential to be even bigger than the show’s blockbuster take on “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Quinn totally has to do “Papa Don’t Preach.” And I can completely see Rachel tackling “Material Girl.”

But Madonna might not be the only pop star getting some Glee love. Co-creator Ryan Murphy tells EW that he’s considering approaching American Idol runner up Adam Lambert about appearing on the show (next year, Glee will be paired with Idol on Wednesday nights). Nothing is official yet but Lambert does seem like an ideal choice for Glee.

Which Madonna song do you wanna hear Glee cover, Music Mix-ers? What would you think about Adam Lambert possibly appearing on the show?

For more on Glee, check out EW’s cover story on the Fox phenomenon, on stands this Friday.
