Matthew Morrison on Ellen!

Matthew Morrison aka Will “smoking hot” Schuester appeared today on the Ellen show to promote tonight’s spring premiere of the hit show! If you missed the show you can check out a video clip from the official Ellen Show website here.

Matthew Morrison had the following to say on The Press Association:

Glee is no High School Musical, according to the cast.

The Golden Globe-nominated show may have similarities with the Disney Channel hit with an all-singing and dancing cast – but Matthew Morrison, who plays optimistic music teacher Will Schuester, said viewers shouldn’t make comparisons.

“A lot of people are trying to compare it to High School Musical, but the thing that separates us is the adult storyline – that and the fact that with our show we don’t just break out into song in the middle of a conversation,” he said.

“That’s what really grounds us and makes people more accepting of what we’re doing. All of our songs come out of either rehearsal situations or performances; you know it’s all done in a real setting and it’s more acceptable because of that.”

Corey Monteith (Finn Hudson) described Glee as “quirky and upbeat and bright”.

“I think what really makes you care about these characters, is that there’s a real heart to the show,” he said.

“It’s sweet, but it’s not saccharine, it’s not cheesy, but it’s true. And I think there’s something real about all these situations, all the storylines, all the plot points, that people can relate to their daily lives.”

I’ve added screencaptures from the Glee cast on the Bonnie Hunt Show thanks to Brianne. I also have video to add but I’m having issues with the media archive right now so I’ll have to try again later!

I just added a bunch of photos of the Glee cast from the FOX All Star Party and the Summer TCA Tour to the gallery!

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the tenth annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and sponsored by the ASPCA and PEDIGREE? with additional sponsorship by the New York Times will take place on Saturday, July 11th in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters will take place between 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Moore and Peters will be joined by such luminaries of the stage as Christine Baranski (Boeing Boeing), Victoria Clark (The Marriage of Bette & Boo), Glenn Close, Harvey Fierstein (A Catered Affair), Boyd Gaines (Gypsy), Shuler Hensley (Young Frankenstein), Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu), Andy Karl (Legally Blonde), Lacey Kohl (Cry Baby), Nathan Lane (November), Mario Lopez (A Chorus Line), Priscilla Lopez (In the Heights), Orfeh (Legally Blonde), Judy McLane (Mamma Mia!), Matthew Morrison (South Pacific), Faith Prince (A Catered Affair), who will be presenting the animals for adoption. More stars will be announced in the coming weeks.

Marking the 10th Anniversary of the organization, BROADWAY BARKS 10 will again help many of New York City’s shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of “homeless” dogs and cats in the metropolitan area. Last year’s BROADWAY BARKS! attracted an audience of more than 6,000 theater fans, pet owners, and animal lovers, and featured the participation of more than 24 animal shelters from the New York City area, as well as Broadway stars from the hit shows of the season.

BROADWAY BARKS 10 will feature a sampling of potential pets from several New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies, including A Cause for Paws, Adopt A Boxer Rescue, Animal Haven, Anjellicle Cats Rescue, ASPCA, AC&C, BARC, Bide-A-Wee, Bobbi & the Strays, City Critters, Humane Society of New York, Husky House, Kitty Kind, Long Island Greyhound Rescue, Loving Touch, Metropolitan Maltese Rescue, Mid Atlantic Great Dane Rescue, NYC Siamese Rescue, Pet-I-Care, PLUTO, Russell Refuge, Staten Island Council for Animal Welfare, Stray from the Heart, Tigger Foundation, Arf, and Save Kitty. Representatives from these organizations will be on hand to offer educational information on spaying and neutering.

BROADWAY BARKS 10 will also feature an auction of celebrity-autographed memorabilia. Proceeds from the auction and other donations received during the day will benefit the shelters and organizations attending BROADWAY BARKS 10.
