Cory On The Simpsons!

Via the means of Twitter (I think that’s a recurring theme today), Glee star Cory Monteith revealed that he’d done a recording for the world-renowned cartoon, The Simpsons! Nothing has been revealed in terms of what sort of character he will be playing, but I would love to see him as a mock of his Glee character, Finn! Stay tuned to Glee-Fan.Com to find out more on this.

Matthew Morrison had the following to say on The Press Association:

Glee is no High School Musical, according to the cast.

The Golden Globe-nominated show may have similarities with the Disney Channel hit with an all-singing and dancing cast – but Matthew Morrison, who plays optimistic music teacher Will Schuester, said viewers shouldn’t make comparisons.

“A lot of people are trying to compare it to High School Musical, but the thing that separates us is the adult storyline – that and the fact that with our show we don’t just break out into song in the middle of a conversation,” he said.

“That’s what really grounds us and makes people more accepting of what we’re doing. All of our songs come out of either rehearsal situations or performances; you know it’s all done in a real setting and it’s more acceptable because of that.”

Corey Monteith (Finn Hudson) described Glee as “quirky and upbeat and bright”.

“I think what really makes you care about these characters, is that there’s a real heart to the show,” he said.

“It’s sweet, but it’s not saccharine, it’s not cheesy, but it’s true. And I think there’s something real about all these situations, all the storylines, all the plot points, that people can relate to their daily lives.”

Cory Monteith Is the New Face of Five Four

We just heard from the guys over at Five Four Clothing that they’ve tapped “Glee” actor Cory Monteith, who plays football quarterback Finn Hudson in Fox’s fantastic new song-and-dance romp through high school, as the face of their holiday 2009 advertising campaign.

Creative director Andres Izquieta told me that he and label co-founder Dee Murthy have been friends with Monteith for about the last year or so and wanted to feature up-and-comers as the brand’s ambassadors.

“We felt Cory was a great fit for the brand, so we shot it a few weeks ago and launched the campaign on Friday.”

For anyone who’s keeping track, the new show has barely aired its seventh episode of its debut season (No. 8 is scheduled for Wednesday night).

Now all somebody needs to do is cue up Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” on the All the Rage jukebox and we’ll be all set.

I’ve added screencaptures from the Glee cast on the Bonnie Hunt Show thanks to Brianne. I also have video to add but I’m having issues with the media archive right now so I’ll have to try again later!

Sorry these are late, but I’ve just added some photos of the Glee cast from the Teen Choice Awards to the gallery. Check them out below:
